Major General Gavin A. Lawrence

Major General Lawrence graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) in 1995 and upon graduation was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from USMA, a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Studies from U.S. Army War College where he successfully completed the Advanced Strategic Arts Program. He has also completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Seminar XXI Program and University of North Carolina’s Institute for Defense and Business LOGTECH Executive Program.
MG Lawrence has held several key staff and joint assignments to include Supply & Services Officer, Combined Joint Task Force-82 (Afghanistan); Support Operations Officer, 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Liberty, NC; XO to the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Headquarters Department of the Army, Pentagon, Washington D.C.; Director of Readiness, Strategy and Operations, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Headquarters Department of the Army, Pentagon, Washington D.C.; and Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Logistics, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Liberty, NC.
MG Lawrence’s command assignments include the Headquarters and Distribution Company for 225th Forward Support Battalion, Division Support Command, 25th Infantry Division (Light) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; the 801st Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, KY; the 25th Sustainment Brigade, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, HI and Commander, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, PA.
MG Lawrence’s combat and operational service include one deployment to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and three deployments to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (2d Award), Bronze Star Medal (3rd Award), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), and Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd Award). He has earned the Air Assault Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Parachute Rigger Badge.
Prior to assuming his current role, MG Lawrence served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, U.S. Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, NC.
Major General Lawrence is happily married to his spouse Rebecca, and together they have three children: India, Idaliz, Gavin Jr., and one grandchild, Elijah.

Dr. Ari Dimitriou has served Raytheon and the defense industry for over 30 years. He is
currently a member of Collins Aerospace Senior Technical Staff and is serving as the
Technical Director for the TITAN program. In his current role he is responsible for technology
solutions for Army, Air Force, and Navy ISR and Cyber pursuits. Ari also teaches Doctoral
Level Data Analysis course at George Washington University, as well as advising Doctoral
students in their research.
Ari received his undergraduate Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in Computer
Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT, with a focus in Signal Processing. He later
returned to MIT to receive additional Masters in Systems Engineering and an MBA from Sloan.
He received his Doctoral Degree at George Washington University studying the integration of
AI/ML capabilities into large System of Systems.
Ari began his career researching and developing signal processing capabilities for a variety of
platforms for Air Force, Army, and Navy. He led research teams to develop and apply real
time Interference Cancellation Techniques, Direction Finding, TDOA, and other LPI signal
processing techniques. He has experienced the full product lifecycle from initial research to
product fielding and operation. One of his first Systems is now on display in the Museum of
London.
Ari previously served as Technical Director for several Raytheon Mission areas, in Cyber and
ISR, and was responsible for directing technology investments to meet customer needs and
technology insertion into the Tactical DCGS Family of systems, Cross Domain Information
Sharing Capabilities, Ground based ISR mobile solutions, and UAV Command and Control
Systems, and several Cyber Operations Center solutions.
Ari served as Technical Director for the Zumwalt Navy Electronic Warfare System where he
led a team to run system procurement activities for the Navy. This was concurrent with his
second tour at MIT. Ari also served as the Raytheon Chief Architect for the Air Force Senior
Year program where he led capability integration and such studies as how to migrate legacy
system capabilities into modern Open Architectures.
Ari lives in Northern Virginia, USA with his wife and three (very active) boys.

David has 32 years of U.S. Army, Special Operations and Joint Intelligence experience and has led at every echelon including several Special Operations assignments from Battalion to Theater Army Service Component as the Senior Intelligence Officer (S2/G2/J2). David has multiple Combat deployments: the invasion into Panama during Operation JUST CAUSE; two deployments into Bosnia during Operation JOINT GUARD for the hunt of PFWIC’s; a myriad deployments into Afghanistan for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as Ranger Task Force J2, CJTF-76 J2, and CJSOTF J2; two deployments into Iraq with one being the invasion of Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM; and culminating his career as the JSOC J2 for critical National mission sets and finally as the USARPAC G2, the Army Senior Intelligence Officer for the Indo-Pacific Theater. Upon retirement (September 2017), David represented General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) as the Director of Army Initiatives and Strategy, Tactical ISR/Ground Systems business unit, where he served for 5 years until moving to Raytheon Intelligence & Space and Collins Aerospace.
At GDMS, David led efforts to develop and execute a strategy to satisfy Army Tactical Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber requirements. David coordinated and collaborated for solutions to Army ISR and Tactical Electronic Warfare requirements culminating in $32M in funding for Army Tactical Electronic Warfare System-Infantry for integration onto wheeled vehicle. Additionally, David engaged and advised with elements in the PEOIEWS and through GRO efforts to raise the ceiling (~200M) on the Prophet POR to ensure continued agility for ground-based SIGINT and EW efforts affording increase in GDMS tech insertion for delivered and soon to be delivered SIGINT systems.David was BD Lead to shape GDMS win for PH1 TLS-EAB pursuit shaping and ensuring that all Requirements, Operational, and Acquisition leadership effects were nested. David was GDMS’ Capture Manager for Army’s TITAN program, positioning GDMS as sub to Raytheon winning PH1 & PH2 solutions to posture for summer 2023 PH3 single down select. Lastly, David developed and coordinated solutions to the Army’s Intelligence & Security Command’s operational requirements for battle tracking, Battle Damage Assessment automation, and fusion of data into a common operating picture.
David is currently focused on ensuring success with TITAN Phase 2 culminating in a Team
Raytheon PMP win in the coming months. David is currently working CJADC2 innovation to build
Decision Dominance into the Joint Kill Web ensuring Commanders at all echelons can see first,
understand first, act first and to win decisively against any adversary. David routinely extends his
support across Mission Systems/Collins Aerospace/Raytheon teammates as the utility player to
enable any endeavor with that needs Army and SOF Intelligence expertise.

Andrew Dardine is a Senior Defense Analyst, and lead analyst for Forecast International's Defense Electronic Systems group. He is the primary author of Forecast International's Electronic Warfare Forecast and co-author of Electro-Optical Systems Forecast and C4I Forecast. Andrew is also a regular contributor to FI's Defense & Security Monitor blog, offering insights into developing technologies such as directed-energy and next-generation jamming systems. His analysis of such vital market areas as EO/IR systems and electronic countermeasures technology has been cited in Defense News, Aerospace Daily, and Bloomberg Businessweek, among other news media. He has also written about the electronic defense market for Aviation Week and the Journal of Electronic Defense.

Before joining GovExec, David spent six years in the United States Marine Corps where he specialized in infantry tactics and training. Following his military service, he spent five years researching, writing, and analyzing content in the defense field. His previous roles include Global Conflict Data Analyst at Intelligence Fusion and Geopolitical Risk Analyst at Global Risk Intelligence. He received his B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Iowa State University and his MSc. in Defense, Development, and Diplomacy at Durham University in the United Kingdom.
