The insertion of automation and AI technologies into our intelligence cycle has and will continue to change the way we conduct analysis and derive conclusions. On this panel we pair a leading AI/ML developer with an intelligence analyst to discuss their perspectives on automation, workflows, and how to best navigate this changing environment. Human vs machine bias, the role of automation, and the soft skills like user adoption and ability to communicate conclusions will all be discussed in the conversation as well as how to best create a cooperative environment where developers and analysts create best-fit technologies for the future.

This session will examine the next steps in countering insider threats as well as the role of education and the internet.

The current volume of work and changing landscape of the Intelligence Community mission has meant that systems, people and processes must be able to quickly adapt.  In the simplest terms, agencies must be able to do more with less to respond at the speed of mission.

Doing more with less can be achieved through the combination of technology, people and processes – no more and no less.  Using automated workflow technologies is about enabling the execution of work at a faster pace, deriving insights into the data and process to produce more powerful results, and enhancing the digital experience.  This session will focus on the importance of automation and workflow connecting disparate tools (legacy and new) and offices in a way that supports how the IC workforce works and meets the need to do more with less.
