Dr. William Streilein, Ph. D., serves as the Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO). He brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, primarily in program management, technical leadership, cyber security, and business development, to his service in the government to help transform the Department of Defense in adopting next-generation AI and software technologies.

Prior to government service, Streilein spent 23 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory serving multiple senior roles, including Principal Staff of Biotechnology and Human Systems Division and Leader of Cyber Analytics and Decision Systems Group. At MIT Lincoln Laboratory, he contributed his technical research and leadership expertise to numerous projects focused on cyber security, passive network and traffic analysis, streaming analytics, and computer vision.

Before his tenure at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Streilein spent nine years working as a software engineer at multiple innovative organizations, including Brixton Systems, PictureTel Corporation, Wellfleet Communications, and the Utah Scientific Advanced Development Center. In addition, he has vast experience with engaging and contributing to the computer science community, serving as the Chair of Artificial Intelligence for Cyber Security (AICS). He is an Academic Committee Member of AISec, GameSec, MILCOM, and ACM, and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Streilein is also a prolific researcher and communicator, with over 30 published papers and chapters as lead or co-author, covering topics such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and statistical analysis.

Streilein holds a Ph. D. in Cognitive and Neural Systems from Bostin University, a Master of Music in Electronic and Computer Music from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Austin College.

Ms. Sharon Woods is a member of the Senior Executive Service and currently serves as 

the Director for the Hosting and Compute Center, the HaCC, at the Defense Information Systems Agency. In this role, Ms. Woods is focused on making the HaCC the warfighter’s provider of choice for hosting and compute.   

Prior to this role, Ms. Woods served as Executive Director for the Cloud Computing Program Office, where she led the team responsible for deploying Commercial Virtual Remote, a collaboration tool designed to support remote work during the COVID 19 national emergency.  To date, CVR is the largest Microsoft 365 tenant deployment in the world.  Ms. Woods also served as the General Counsel for the Defense Digital Service where she provided legal counsel and bureaucracy hacking expertise for a team of federal government technologists working on high impact challenges at the Pentagon. Ms. Woods has also worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of the Navy, specializing in information technology acquisitions.  

Ms. Woods holds a law degree from the Washington College of Law, American University and a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University. She has received numerous awards from the Defense and Acquisition communities in recognition of her leadership and accomplishments including: the Federal 100 award (August 2021), the Pinnacle Award for Cloud Government Executive of the Year (November 2020), Secretary of Defense Coin (January 2017), the Department of the Navy SPAWAR Exemplary Achievement Award (November 2015), and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award (December 2013).

As the Department of the Navy's Chief Data Officer (Acting) and Chief Analytics Officer, Mr. McCaskill leads management, governance, and exploitation of data and analysis at all echelons and across the entire range of Naval missions and functions. He serves as senior advisor to SECNAV, UNSECNAV, and DON CIO for data and analytical issues and drives both technological and cultural change in the DON and broader DOD toward data centricity. 

Mr. McCaskill also serves as the program owner for Jupiter, the DON Enterprise Data Environment - a technical implementation of the DON Data Architecture and the largest Mission Space within the DOD CDAO Advana Platform. As the executive champion of the DON Data Community of Practice and Excellence, Mr. McCaskill facilitates the intellectual and professional growth of the DON’s current and future data and analytics workforce. 

Prior to joining the DON, Mr. McCaskill served over 20 years in the private sector providing subject matter expertise to clients across the Defense and Intelligence Communities. 

Mr. McCaskill holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Georgia and is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science at the University of Alabama.

Tara Murphy Dougherty is the CEO of Govini. Prior to her current role, she served as Govini’s President, where she led strategy and growth, overseeing Govini’s work with all federal clients. She has held leadership positions in technology across industry, government, and nonprofit sectors, including at Palantir Technologies, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where she served as chief of staff for Global Strategic Affairs, among other senior roles. 

Tara holds a bachelor’s from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s from Georgetown University. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Defense University Foundation, the Board of Advisors for the Center for Government Contracting at George Mason University, the Board of Directors of AFCEA DC, and the Board of Advisors for the National Security Innovation Base Program at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.

With more than 12 years in the IT industry, Jeremy supports some of Veritas’ top accounts in Canada, and the channel and distribution North America wide. Over the last 6 years working with Veritas, Sgt. Snow is our subject matter expert in all things NetBackup IT analytics, Backup Exec, Insights, Availability Pillars, and the more recent Veritas product, Alta SaaS Protection.

Jeremy Snow is a United States Marine and earned the Navy Achievement Medal from his time in the Marine Corps. As someone who wants to know how something works, whether it be at mechanical level or within the human body, he enjoys constantly learning and being challenged with new concepts. Although his past consisted of very physically demanding roles, he finds the computer engineering field produces the mental challenges that always push you to dig deeper and learn more.
